Pros Of Using An RRP Certified Firm
Studies indicate that the renovation work you do now can create significant lead-dust hazards if the lead based paint is disturbed. The lead dust generated by the work can cause lead poisoning in anyone, but most susceptible are children, pregnant women, workers and pets.
For this reason the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established the RRP rule. RRP stands for Renovation, Repair and Painting. The RRP final rule (40 CFR 745) requires that renovations conducted for compensation, must be performed by a certified firm using Certified Renovators.
The first line of defense against lead poisoning starts with your contractor. And if not properly trained can and most likely will cause cross contamination. That is where the lead dust from your project area is carried or transferred to another area that did not contain lead previously.
Using a Firm Certified Contractor can also enhance the value of your home as awareness grows with the laws, safety issues and health hazards that lead dust can cause if not properly handled during renovations and remodels.
Budget Exteriors verifies that all its contractors are Certified Renovators for any work that we conduct both in Minnesota and Wisconsin. For more detailed information contact us today for a free in-home consultation.
